Author Larry Adams

Just a few days before Christmas 1962, Larry’s parents received a letter from the Pastor at their church inviting them, and Larry, not to come to that church any more. Their talking about Jesus and salvation was upsetting the members. Larry’s Mother had given her life to Christ a couple of years before, his Father early in 1962, and Larry had given his life to Christ on July 26th that year at a church camp. That was Larry’s first introduction to rejection of the Gospel, at a protestant church no less.

For the next ten years, Larry and his family attended several different churches. In 1972, Larry transferred to the main campus of Penn State University, where he became involved in Campus Crusade for Christ. Then Larry heard a radio preacher gIve a message on the Rapture that was very intriguing. Larry started investigating the Bible to see things for himself. Problem was that most of the sensationalistic details provideD by the radio preacher were not in the Bible. He decided to do some research to see where these details came from. Shortly after this resolve, Larry got laid off, and spent his spare time (when not looking for work) studying the Bible. Over the next ten months he collected a rather large library of Bible reference works, and stumbled across several books by Arthur E. Bloomfield and Guy Duty. It was through these authors that he found the Rules of Interpretation and their application to basic theology and end time prophecy.

After a few years of research, he started teaching home Bible studies on the book of Revelation. Several of these took approximately 22 months each, meeting weekly for an hour to an hour and a half. These started in Genesis and went through covenants, the Tabernacle, Feasts and Holy Days, Old Testament prophecies about the end times, New Testament prophesies about the end times, and finally the actual book of Revelation. Many times during the study on Revelation, Pastors in the area would visit to find out what was being taught. Invariably, these visiting Pastors would storm out in the middle of the study session in a rage. Every time it was because that Pastor’s pet theory about the end times was undermined by simple reading fundamentals. Rejection of understanding God’s word using basic reading fundamentals has been a part of Larry’s entire walk with Christ. One thing that has stood out in all these rejections: when someone is wrong, and they know it, and they refuse to admit it, they get angry. Some control it better than others, but they all show indications of anger. Most of the rejections Larry receives are from religious church people.

Larry is active in a local congregation, teaching and helping out with worship and many church activities. Larry is married (since 1974) and has two children and four grandchildren
